This is the live blog for Erin Blanchfield vs. Maycee Barber, the catchweight main event for Saturday’s UFC Vegas 107 event at the UFC APEX.
Blanchfield looks to put her name in the women’s flyweight title conversation as she seeks her second straight victory. In her most recent bout, “Cold-Blooded” bounced back from a lopsided decision loss to Manon Fiorot at UFC Atlantic City with a victory against former champ Rose Namajunas at UFC Edmonton. The 26-year-old is 7-1 inside the UFC’s octagon.
Barber returns to action for the first time in nearly 14 months, and does so riding one of the division’s longest win streaks. “The Future” unfortunately cost herself 20 percent of her purse after missing weight during Friday’s official UFC Vegas 107 weigh-ins. Barber told MMA Fighting she belives a win over Blanchfield — which would extend her win streak to seven — could earn her a title shot against Valentina Shevchenko.
