This is the UFC 317 live blog for Payton Talbott vs. Felipe Lima, the main card bantamweight bout Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Talbott (9-1) seeks to rebound from his first career loss. The charismatic 26-year-old went 3-0 to begin his UFC run, finishing all of his opponents, including a stunning 19-second knockout of Yanis Ghemmouri. Pitted against the experienced Raoni Barcelos at UFC 311 in January, Talbott was stifled by Barcelos’ grappling and went on to lose a unanimous decision.
Looking to put Talbott on a losing streak is Lima (14-1), another 135-pound riser. Lima, 27, won titles competing in Sweden and Czech Republic before making his UFC debut in 2024. He submitted Muhammad Naimov, then scored a unanimous decision win over veteran Miles Johns in his sophomore octagon outing. In all, “Jungle Boy” has won 14 straight fights since losing in his pro debut 10 years ago.
