Pacquiao vs. Barrios took place July 19 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3) and Mario Barrios (29-2-2) squared off in the the main event clash. The fight aired live on pay-per-view on Amazon and PPV.com.

Round 1: Pacquiao is officially back in the ring after a four year layoff. Barrios is giving Pacquiao his respect and is trying to feel him out. Pacquiao, with his high socks, is leading with a jab-heavy attack followed by his left cross. Pacquiao doesn’t look too slow. But it’s only the first round. He slips a couple jabs from Barrios. Huge lefts to the body from Pacquiao. Pacquiao’s left looks crisp. Pacquiao is now moving his head. Barrios looks…befuddled.

Round 2: Barrios comes out and takes the center of the ring and lands a good double jab on Pacquiao. Pacquiao looking much slower now. Barrios gets tripped up chasing Pacquiao. Ref calls it a slippage as Mario Barrios hits the canvas. Barrios is speeding things up this round. Pacquiao is moving around the ring well pivoting and such. Pacquiao is darting out to the side and Barrios is chasing a bit. Pacquiao is finding all the angles again at the end of the round. His right hand is actually doing the heavy lifting this round. Closer than the first but still Pacquiao’s.

Round 3: Barrios is giving Pacquiao a lot of respect. Any time Pacquiao pretends he want’s to step in, Barrios concedes ground. Low blow from Barrios and Pacquiao tells him to get it up. Barios is picking up on the pivot better and starts to land. Two good body shots from Barrios and Pacquiao complains they’re low. Ref says no go, keep fighting. You can tell it’s still Manny Pacquiao in the ring. he’s all over the ring, darting out the side, landing in the pocket. I just concern he’s going to fade. Barrios is opening up at the end of the round as does Pacquiao.

Round 4: Pacquiao has slowed down considerably. Barrios is pushing the pace now. He’s leading with the jab and coming behind with the right hand. Pacquiao is still crafty. Barrios can still win this. But he’s still struggling to land. Barrios finds a home for his right hand. Pacquiao is complaining to the referee again about a low blow.

Round 5: Pacquiao is staying in Barrios face this round early on. Barrios is being very timid. But if Pacquiao fades, he will be in good shape. If. Barrios is making Pacquiao miss a little more. Barrios is landing the right hand much more this round. It’s his best round by far. Barrios times the dart out to Pacquiao’s right with a left hook. He’s starting to close in. Pacquiao tries to steal the round with a flurry that electrifies the crowd.

Round 6: Barrios takes the ring’s center again. Barrios slips a good 1-2 from Pacquiao. But Pac-man lands to the body. The crowd cheers; they know ball. Harris starts to get his jab working. Pacquiao is aged and Barrios has a clear speed advantage. The question is: does he have the confidence advantage? Barrios dips behind a big left and Pacquiao is looking more and more labored. He’s starting to fade as Barrios lands the jab. This has been Barrios’ clearest round yet.

Round 7: Paquiao is landing good combinations again this round. Barrios starts to throw and Pacquiao gets his head snapped back. Pacquiao isn’t fading as fast as he should at 46. Barrios is getting chewed up on the inside. Barrios’ offense was next to nothing this round. Pacquiao really did a good job of keeping Barrios on the back foot.

Round 8: Barrios is starting to throw more than one or two punches at a time. Where has this been? A good lead left to the body from Barrios has Pacquiao leaning over. He hates the body shots. Mario Barrios isn’t taking advantage of Pacquiao taking breaks. Pacquiao continues to find the angles. His footwork is not what it was, but it’s still a sight to behold. I can’t believe a 46-old- looks like Pacquiao does at the end of round eight, pushing the point and landing a flurry electrifying the crowd again.

Round 9: Pacquiao is punishing Barrios. Starts the round with another four punch combination. Mario Barrios is fighting an incredibly frustrating fight. Even when Barrios exits an exchange, Pacquiao is right there. It’s a tale old as time from Pacquiao. He’s always there, always in your face. There hasn’t been a knockdown in this fight but you’d lever know by listening to the crowd. Again, they know ball. “MANNY! MANNY! MANNY!” again from the crowd.

Round 10: I cannot believe we’re in round ten. Pacquiao is taking his time getting out of the corner. There’s a tape issue and the ref steps in. Sneaky trick by the savvy vet. Round finally starts. Barrios opens up with a three punch flurry. He needs a finish and isn’t punching with any real power. But he is clearly fresher than Pacquiao. Pacquiao counters the body shot with a left hook of his own. Barrios Despite his age, Pacquiao is moving pretty well ten rounds in. Barrios is staying in Pacquiao’s face again, finally. Pacquiao is loving the pressure and is throwing back. Pacquiao tries to steal the round again with a late flurry but Barrios got it.

Round 11: Barrios takes the center again. He needs to get the lead out. Barrios buzzes Pacquiao and Pacquiao’s legs buckle a little bit. But Pacquiao resets. Pecquiao is clearly tired now. Barrios has worked on Pacquiao with the pressure last round and this round. Pacquiao is not getting the better of the pocket exchanges. Barrios isn’t capitalizing on all the exchanges he should be but it’s enough to steal rounds. Pacquiao lands two big punches that gets the crowd cheering for him again. Pacquiao is trying to steal the round again. He’s electrifying the crowd from start to finish. One more round.

Round 12: Last round, baby! Timid first minute from both fighters. They are anticipating a hellacious end of the fight. Pacquiao is presenting his head to draw offense out of Barrios. Pacquiao isn’t throwing longer combinations anymore. One or two punches a flurry. A minute to go! The crowd is getting gradually louder, erupting every time Pacquiao throws a punch. Barrios starts to push forward. Pacquiao is on the back foot with twenty seconds left. Last ten seconds are inactive as the crowd erupts. Insane that Pacquiao has likely won this fight.
