Perfect World has shared details on the upcoming CS Asia Championship (CAC) event taking place in October.
The event organiser has confirmed the 16-team event will feature a $1m (~£758,578) prize pool.
Perfect World has revealed that nine of the 16 teams will receive direct invitations to the tournament, which will take place from October 14th to 19th. Alongside announcing invited teams, the tournament organiser revealed that the million-dollar prize pool will be split between teams and players.
Ahead of the event, regional qualifiers for Europe, the Americas, and China will take place to determine the seven teams that will join the direct invitations.
The Chinese tournament organiser is no stranger to operating esports events. In late 2024, it hosted the first Counter-Strike Major in China, which peaked at 1.3m viewers.
In addition to event operations, Perfect World has continued to expand its presence within the esports industry in recent years. In March 2024, it joined forces with PGL to collaborate on Dota 2 and CS2 events until the end of the 2026 season.
