We have a new contender for most gruesome cut in MMA history.
On Friday night at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, PFL 8 went down, and a preliminary welterweight bout played host to one of the nastiest cuts you’ll ever see.
In the second bout of the evening, Sarak Shields and Nick Meck got straight into the action, mixing things up early, but with about two minutes left in the round, Shields landed a nasty knee to the head of the charging Meck. Meck ate the shot well, but was badly cut open and his face poured blood for the remainder of the round, covering Shields in it.
Between rounds the doctor finally got a look at Meck’s eye and was left with no choice but to halt the action as a massive gash had opened on his eyelid.
