Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 2 is just around the corner, where the top teams from around the world will compete for a place in the Grand Finals later this year.

The second stage of Ignite will see both invited teams from Stage 1 and the Season 2 Championships face off against the top teams from the Stage 2 Open Qualifiers, all to crown a champion for each of the five major regions.

Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 2: Americas

Heading into the tournament, one of the top teams to keep an eye on is the Stage 1 Americas champions, Sentinels. Despite undergoing drastic roster changes, Sentinels enters the tournament as one of the favourites to win, although only time will tell if the team can secure back-to-back wins.

The other organisation in the running to win is the Mid-Season Finals runners-up, ENVY, which demonstrated a very strong performance throughout the tournament leading up to the Grand Finals. Ever since winning The Shroud Gauntlet, ENVY has made its mark as one of the most consistent teams in the competitive scene.

The stars of the EMEA are undoubtedly TEAM1, the Mid-Season Finals champions that competed under Rad EU. Since the contract ended after the tournament, the team has instead entered through the Open Qualifiers. At this time, Rad EU has yet to reveal its new roster despite being invited to Stage 2.

However, a lot of attention will also be drawn to Virtus.pro. Once considered the best team in the world, the entire scene was baffled when the organisation was knocked out of the Stage 1 competition by Stage 1 EMEA champions, Citadel Gaming, formerly Brr Brr Patapim.

What to Expect From Asia

Asia’s top two teams include Mid-Season Finals teams Gen.G Esports and REJECT. While both teams saw early eliminations during the LAN event, both teams dominated during Ignite Stage 1.

REJECT was the winner of Stage 1 Asia after claiming a narrow 4-3 win against Gen.G Esports, and so enters the tournament as the team to beat. On the other hand, Gen.G Esports’ chances of success are more uncertain due to releasing four of its competitors from its Marvel Rivals roster. Its chances of victory hinge on the skills of its new players and how well they work with the older members.

Oceania has the fewest number of teams competing, as eight teams fight for a place in the Grand Finals.

Amidst this small group of teams, Ground Zero Gaming stands out as the organisation to beat as the Stage 1 champions of the region. Ground Zero Gaming was far from a standout team in the Mid-Season Finals, but placed fifth overall, performing better than more well-known names such as Sentinels.

During Ignite Stage 1, Ground Zero Gaming stormed the competition. It topped its Group Stage without a single loss, and decisively won every match during the Playoffs, including winning 4-2 against The Vicious in the Grand Finals. As such, the team enter the tournament as its predicted champion.

The Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 2 teams of China

OUG and Nova Esports enter Ignite Stage 2 as the most noteworthy teams in China as the two organisations that successfully qualified for the Mid-Season Finals.

While Nova Esports was one of the first teams to be eliminated during the Play-In Stage, OUG placed sixth overall, outperforming regional champions such as REJECT and Sentinels.

During Stage 1, fans witnessed OUG go on a winning streak from the Group Stage to the Playoffs, losing only two matches ever in the Grand Finals against Nova Esports.

Fans anticipate a similar performance in Stage 2, but top performers from the Open Qualifiers, such as LDGM, may prove to be the secret dark horses of the tournament.
