KRAFTON has revealed that it is uniting both the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) and PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) into a single branded event.
The PUBG UNITED 2025 esports event will take place this November in Bangkok, Thailand, promising to bring ‘a whole new experience’ to the global stage.
Historically, the Global Championships for PUBG and PUBG Mobile have been treated as two separate events, yet one has always taken place shortly after the other. For example, in 2024, the mobile event took place from October 31st to December 8th, with the PUBG counterpart held immediately afterwards from December 9th to 22nd, 2024.
However, similarly to the likes of the Pokémon World Championship and last year’s SuperFest (Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale), the event will be branded in unison despite having different tournament circuits.
Dates and venues have yet to be announced for PUBG UNITED 2025.
What to Expect from PUBG UNITED 2025

PUBG Mobile
The PUBG Mobile Global Championship is expected to use the same format as previous years.
The tournament begins with 16 teams from each Regional Championship in The Gauntlet, where, at the end, seven advance to the Grand Finals and the rest to the Group Stage. The Group Stage features 32 teams playing 18 matches per group, with the top three moving to the Finals, fourth to 11th placed teams progressing to Last Chance, and the bottom five eliminated.
Last Chance narrows 16 teams down to just two survivors after 12 matches across two days. Finally, 16 teams face off in the Grand Finals, across 18 matches, to crown the 2025 Champions.
PUBG
Details for PUBG’s tournament this year have yet to be revealed. However, In 2024, the annual tournament shifted to using a circuit system.
Circuit one split teams based on the PUBG Global Series Point Ranking, with the top four teams playing in day three, fifth to eighth teams competing from day two, and the remaining teams starting in day one. The bottom four teams on days one and two are eliminated.
In circuits two and three, teams are split based on the results of the previous circuit. In each circuit, the bottom four teams from day one and two will also be eliminated.
Through each circuit, teams will try to climb the circuit standings, determined by points scored on day three. The top 16 teams advance to the Grand Final while the bottom eight are eliminated.
The Grand Finals are played with the SUPER format instead of the Smash Rule, seeking to accumulate as many points as possible through placements and eliminations. 18 matches are then played across three days, and the highest ranking team is then declared the season’s World Champion.
It has not been confirmed by KRAFTON if the 2025 Global Championship for PUBG will once again adopt this format.
