The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced the 9th edition of its esports tournament eBrasileirão, featuring Rocket League and eFootball.

With the largest prize pool in the tournament’s history, featuring over R$100,000 (~£13,690), the competition will be open to professional and amateur players across the country. The main goal of the competition is to discover a new wave of domestic talent.

eBrasileirão will be managed by HB Company, a newly formed holding that owns three gaming-focused companies: Hero Base, Level8, and Arcode. HB Company will be taking care of the organisation, production, broadcast, commercial and promotional activities.

The tournament will feature live-streamed playoffs and an in-person finals, with details announced at a later date. Additionally, the release also confirmed the participation of esports influencers and co-streamers as part of the new promotion strategy.

eBrasileirão Rocket League Tournament will Feature up to Four Esports Organisations

According to a release, this year’s Rocket League tournament will see the participation of up to four traditional esports organisations, joining the teams of the 40 clubs in the Série A and B of the Brasileirão. The esports teams, however, have yet to be announced.

Additionally, the competition will feature the Reverse Draft, where players will select their clubs based on descending order of ranking. The official launch will take place today, with registrations opening tomorrow on the CBF website.

Even though it aligns with the international calendar of the FIFAe Finals, which take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this December, eBrasileirão has been confirmed not to serve as a qualifier for the competition.

Samir Xaud, President of CBF, commented: “eBrasileirão is a project that reaffirms CBF’s commitment to supporting the development of sport in its various forms.

“By investing in the world of esports, we expand our presence with younger generations and strengthen the connection between football and technology, always aiming to value athletes and fans.”
