Game data platform and technology company GRID has announced a strategic expansion, introducing GRID Bet, leadership updates and a new plan for esports betting in the future.
To support betting products for both operators and fans, GRID will expand its use of real-time, exclusive data gathered through partnerships with notable rights holders, such as Riot Games, ESL FACEIT Group, and BLAST.
The main idea behind GRID Bet is to use official live data from the biggest esports in the world, such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and VALORANT, to provide more dependable odds, quick bet settlement and live betting opportunities.
To maximise the advantages of real match data and increase an esports bettor’s experience, GRID’s integration with these rights holders aims to ensure better uptime and market coverage.
New Leadership, Industry Partnerships, and Betting Vision
In the company’s announcement, it was revealed that Tom Warburton, a co-founder of GRID, has been named Chief Business Officer to oversee the updated betting vertical.
“All of the most impressive sports betting products I’ve ever worked with had one element in common — they were powered by official data,” Warburton said.
With over 15 years of experience from positions at GeniusSports and SkyBet, Warburton emphasised that official data is essential to enabling trading efficiency, live betting accuracy, and a wide range of product offerings in the esports industry.
GRID, CEO Moritz Maurer added: “The esports betting market has long been challenged by solutions that weren’t built for its unique demands, and the lack of official data, despite the digital nature of the sport, has stunted growth and innovation.
“With GRID Bet, we are doubling down on the unique assets — official, live match data coming from our long-term, exclusive partnerships with leading esports rights holders.”
Live feeds, AI-powered insights, widgets, trader portals, and streaming solutions are already part of GRID’s technology stack. With new GRID Bet products scheduled for release in October 2025, these foundational products have seemingly laid the groundwork for the company’s next phase.
With this expansion, GRID hopes to further solidify its commitment to building a fan-focused, data-first ecosystem for the growth of esports betting globally by offering operators a full suite of betting tools.
