With a total gaming win of $1.23bn (£915m) statewide in August 2025 — a 5.49% increase over the same month the year before — Nevada’s gaming industry appeared to be rebounding.
Both table games and slots contributed to the improving trend, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s most recent report, which showed improving performance across several important gaming sectors.
According to the monthly data, there was a lot of activity at Nevada’s 439 licensed gaming establishments. Table games brought in $411.8m (£306.5m), while slots brought in $816.1m (£607.4m).
The majority of gaming revenue, $1.03bn (£766m) in total gaming win, came from Clark County, which dominated the results.
Sports Betting and Regional Performance Drive Growth
With sports pool revenue rising 68.07% to $42.1m (£31.3m) in August over the same period the previous year, sports betting proved to be a particularly successful month.
With revenue of $29.4m (£21.8m) for the month — a 98.03% increase year over year — mobile sports betting in particular demonstrated significant momentum.
American Football-related wagers contributed $16.3m (£12.1m) to the growth, which was ascribed to an increase in football betting activity as the season drew near.
Although specific Strip numbers were included in the overall Clark County totals, the Las Vegas Strip region continued to be the main source of income.
With $63.2m (£47m) in total gaming revenue, up 8.35% from the year before, downtown Las Vegas also demonstrated improvement.
Strong table game performance helped the downtown area; total table game revenue reached $26m (£19m), a significant 30.23% increase.
Slot gaming performance differed by denomination; multi-denomination slots brought in the most money, $629.9m (£468.9m) statewide, up 13.49% from the previous year.
Despite still having the highest volume, penny slots saw a 27.34% drop in revenue to $124.3m (£92.5m), which was indicative of players’ shifting preferences for machines with higher denominations.
According to the August results, sports betting and higher-denomination slot play are becoming more popular, while traditional penny slot revenues are declining, indicating that Nevada’s gaming industry is adjusting to changing consumer preferences.
