Wolves Esports is looking to import a player for VCT 2026 roster

Wolves Esports is looking to import a support player ahead of VCT China 2026, the team’s analyst Sushant ‘Ominous‘ Jha revealed to Esports Insider.

While discussing the roster’s performance so far in 2025, he shared that this is an area the Chinese team needs to improve on.

“Based on our extensive scouting, we found a lack of good flash initiator players in the CN region, hence that is one area we might be looking to work into our roster for the upcoming year,” said Ominous.

However, no official details were given on which region the support player will be brought in from.

Moreover, this will not be the only change made to the roster as the team has already allowed Tyler ‘juicy‘ Aeria and Huang ‘Yuicaw‘ Yung-chieh to explore new options.

Wolves Esports’ next focus will be on the 2025 VCT Off//Season and getting its full roster ready before a major VALORANT tournament coming to Shanghai in November.

“VALORANT China Evolution Series gives you points. I think we have already qualified. As far as I know, we’re in the top three or something, and these points lead you to a very big, very, very big offset event in Sha Gu in November,” Ominous added.

“So our main goal is to have our full roster, everything ready for that tournament, which is in November. So we are preparing for that and have you know to be ready for that tournament when it comes.”

After an underwhelming performance in the 2024 VCT season, Wolves Esports made roster changes and significantly improved in the Off//Season, winning the Shanghai Esports Masters and WALL-E Cup.

Despite an early elimination in VCT 2025: China Kickoff, the team finished in the top three at VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 1 and VCT 2025: China Stage 1. 

However, VALORANT Masters Toronto was where the organisation truly shone, gaining fans from around the world as a result. It was the organisation’s first appearance at an international VCT event, and the energetic players defeated giants such as Team Heretics and Gen.G to finish third in the tournament.

Wolves Esports couldn’t carry its momentum into VCT 2025: China Stage 2, failing to qualify for the play-offs and Champions Paris as well. As a result, the season is now over for the team, and the focus has shifted towards VCT 2026 preparation.
