TL;DR
- Battlefield 6 releases on October 10 (or October 11 in some regions).
- The full BF6 installation should be around 76GB, although optional components exist.
- If you have pre-ordered the game, you can pre-load ahead of launch, but there is no early access.
- Steam does not support optional installs for pre-loading, but you can find the components in the ‘DLC’ list.
It’s almost time, and the Battlefield 6 release date is close. That means you may be setting an alarm for the return to a modern military-themed BF title. However, if you’re not sure of the exact BF6 release time where you are, we’ve got you covered and will detail the key information we have below.
Naturally, it’s understandable if you’ve yet to buy the game, given the cost and importance of feedback at launch (not to mention a lack of comprehensive reviews). But if you have pre-ordered, you can pre-load immediately. We’ll cover each platform’s preload steps below as well. So, whether you’re on PC, PS5, or Xbox X/S, read on.
Battlefield 6 global release times

To EA’s credit, the publisher has been comprehensive in its communications on this one. Not content with stating that the BF6 release date is October 10 and providing a handful of times, the official Battlefield Threads account posted two images on October 4. These images cover half of the 24 global time zones, and span October 10 and 11:
Time zone | BF6 release time | BF6 release date |
---|---|---|
PDT (Los Angeles) | 08:00 | October 10 |
CST (Mexico City) | 09:00 | October 10 |
EDT (New York) | 11:00 | October 10 |
BRT (Sao Paulo) | 12:00 | October 10 |
(BST) London | 16:00 | October 10 |
CEST (Stockholm) | 17:00 | October 10 |
EEST (Cairo) | 18:00 | October 10 |
AZT (Baku) | 19:00 | October 10 |
UTC (New Delhi) | 20:30 | October 10 |
ICT (Hanoi) | 22:00 | October 10 |
JST (Tokyo) | 00:00 | October 11 |
AEDT (Sydney) | 02:00 | October 11 |
While the above represents the global release times for Battlefield 6, it’s worth keeping these times in mind beyond the launch itself. We already know the dates for BF6 Season 1 Roadmap, and it feels pretty likely that a similar spread will occur. When October 28’s Rogue Ops (Season 1: Phase 1) arrives, it could be October 29 for JST and AEDT time zones.
Battlefield 6 preload details

Battlefield 6 preload is available for all platforms: PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. There is no early access to the game, even if you have pre-ordered. Still, you can be ready with the game installed ahead of the launch. Here’s what you need to know about preloading Battlefield 6, beyond ensuring you have at least 76GB of space for the full install.
Preload Battlefield 6 on PC
While optional installation components are part of BF6, Steam doesn’t support this for pre-loads. Once preloaded, we could access the games ‘optional’. To see these in Steam, you can access the ‘DLC’ list in the Battlefield 6 ‘Manage > Properties’ menus. Here is the full list of PC components. But no, it sadly doesn’t include the BF6 Battle Royale:
- Battlefield 6 Multiplayer HD Marker – 275B
- Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Marker – 301B
- Battlefield 6 – Single Player HD textures – 6.5GB
- Battlefield 6 – HD textures – 21.81GB
- Battlefield 6 – Multiplayer – 4.74GB
- Battlefield 6 – Multiplayer & Single Player Shared Data – 1.15GB
- Battlefield 6 – Multiplayer & Single Player Shared HD Textures – 1.22GB
- Battlefield 6 – Multiplayer HD Textures – 420.82MB

- If you have already purchased BF6, go to your library and select it.
- Select ‘pre-load’ and the game will download and pre-load.

With the game yet to be released at the time of writing, once we pre-loaded via Steam, we received a ‘Game Not Released’ notification.
Preload Battlefield 6 on console
For console installs, a simpler ‘component install’ list is reported. Here, the only mandatory install appears to be the ‘Base Game’ element, allowing PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users to choose whether or not to install multiplayer and/or single-player elements. Do look for these components as you preload.
- Base Game – 48.88GB – Mandatory
- Multiplayer – 5GB
- Multiplayer HD (Cutscenes) – 423MB
- Single Player – 15GB
- Single Player HD (Cutscenes) – 7GB

- Pre-purchase the title, or if you have already purchased it, open your PlayStation library.

- BF6 will now pre-load.
Preload Battlefield 6 on Xbox
- Go to the Xbox Store and the Battlefield 6 Store page.

- Once you have purchased BF6, you can choose the ‘Preload’ option (on selected components, if available).
- Wait until the pre-load finishes.
Conclusion
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The launch time will depend on your specific time zone, but it will be at 08:00 PDT. If you are in time zones around Australia or Japan, the launch arrives around the very early hours of October 11.
Regardless, if you have pre-ordered the game, you can pre-install and get ready for one of the most anticipated titles of the year. Battlefield 6 does support optional component installation, so do look for that. However, we did not have this option when installing via Steam on PC. It was only after we installed that we could see the component list.
