Sentinels Co-owner and CEO, Rob Moore, has hinted that the organisation’s VALORANT roster will experiment with potential changes for the 2026 season.
The CEO revealed that it will be inviting Cubert Academy players to practise with the main team to see which roster combination has ‘the most potential for 2026.’
He shared that while some of its pro players, Zachary ‘zekken‘ Jude Patrone and team captain Mohammed ‘johnqt‘ Amine Quario, are away, it will be allowing some of its academy players to scrim with the main professional line-up. They will be assessed by Sentinels’ Head Coach, Adam ‘kaplan‘ Kaplan, alongside the other staff.
“While Zekken and Johnqt are traveling this week,” Moore added. “We will be giving some of the Cubert Academy players the opportunity to trial with the main roster. Kaplan and the group are evaluating which roster combinations they believe have the most potential for 2026 and beyond.
“We will definitely be keeping TacticalRab and VCT Scrims busy as you will see a lot of variation. Try and hang in there, you’ll hear from us soon.”
Any one of these Cubert Academy members may get the opportunity to practice with the main roster:
- Yassin ‘reduxx‘ Aboulalazm
- Marc-Andre ‘NiSMO‘ Tayar
- Christian ‘nightz‘ Smith
- Mirel ‘Kyu‘ Braco Hrustemovic
- ‘satellite‘
Sentinels in VCT
The post made by Moore reflected on the past performance of Sentinels in the VCT scene, highlighting how it had won both a domestic and international title in 2024, but failed to bring home a trophy in 2025 despite qualifying for every international event.
2024 was a solid year for the organisation, winning the VCT Americas Kickoff after defeating LOUD 3:2 in the Grand Final. Sentinels would then go on to VALORANT Masters Madrid later that year, winning 3:2 against Gen.G Esports. It also qualified for VALORANT Champions 2024, earning a respectable fourth place out of the 16 teams competing.
2025 saw a strong performance from Sentinels, but it was a year where first-place eluded the squad in every event. It placed second in the VCT 2025 Americas Kickoff, however, it followed by placing seventh in VALORANT Masters Bangkok.
Sentinels placed second again in Americas Stage 1 after losing 1:3 to G2 Esports, qualifying for VALORANT Masters Toronto, where it placed sixth overall. Other notable placements including achieving fifth in the VALORANT tournament of the Esports World Cup, and placing third in Americas Stage 2.
The season rounded off for Sentinels with a qualification to this year’s VALORANT Champions, but saw an early elimination after losing in the Group Stage, placing among the bottom eight teams.
