Team Vitality has renewed the contract of Tekken 8 pro player Jeon ‘Jeondding‘ Sang-hyun until 2030.

The renewal follows the South Korean athletes’ performance during the 2025 Esports World Cup, where he placed fourth out of 32 international competitors.

“Securing such a long-term commitment in esports is something truly special,” said Danny Engels, Corporate Director of Global Operations at Team Vitality, in a release. “And it speaks volumes about the absolute trust we have in Jeondding, both as a player and as a person.

“His attitude, dedication, and the way he embodies the DNA of Team Vitality make this partnership feel natural and inspiring. We’re thrilled to continue building this journey together and excited to see all the milestones he will achieve with us in the years ahead.”

Jeondding Journey Continues After a Strong Year

Jeondding has enjoyed a strong year in the FGC scene. In 2025 alone, he has placed runners-up in events such as Ultimate Fighting Arena 2025 and The MIXUP, among other tournaments. Despite not taking home a trophy this year, the Tekken 8 pro has been active, participating in 14 different qualifiers and events in the past couple of months.

His highlight accomplishment was placing fourth in the Tekken 8 tournament at f the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. Despite losing 2:5 to Freecs’ Kim ‘CherryBerryMango’ Jae-hyun in the third-place match, the South Korean player took home a respectable $50,000 (~£37,233) in winnings.

Fans can expect to see Jeondding compete in upcoming FGC esports events such as the Tekken 8 competition at EVO Nice in France, which takes place from October 10th to 12th, 2025. The tournament will see 256 players compete for the lion’s share of its €18,481 (~£16,055) prize pool alongside Tekken World Tour points.

On top of Tekken 8, Jeonddong has also recently competed in other fighting scenes such as Street Fighter 6, and in the past has played Tekken 7, Street Fighter V and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
