Valve has updated the sticker artwork for Imperial Esports as part of its latest Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) update.
The change to the Brazilian esports organisation comes following backlash after the Gamdom logo was used as the original design.
The November 14th update for the first-person shooter title updated the Imperial Esports sticker with the organisation’s original logo. This has prevented the online gambling platform’s logo from appearing as part of the Budapest Major sticker collection.
Notably, Valve didn’t reveal the reasoning behind the change, but the launch of the update coincides with backlash from the community.
In addition to changing the appearance of the sticker, the update has fixed an issue where the Budapest 2025 in-game coin wasn’t showing on the scoreboard during matches.
The approval process of sticker designs has remained a hot topic of conversation within the Counter-Strike community. Before the sticker collection was released, several players competing at the Major expressed their frustrations surrounding rejected designs.
Stickers are an integral part of Counter-Strike’s Major tournaments, providing esports organisations and players with revenue generated from sticker sales.
Gamdom is the sponsor of Imperial Esports and continues to support the organisation’s Counter-Strike efforts. In August, the two parties joined forces to launch a European academy roster as part of its global expansion plans.
The Major Approaches
Taking place from November 24th to December 14th, 2025, the StarLadder Budapest Major is the final CS2 event of the year. Imperial Esports is one of 32 teams competing in the Hungarian capital for a chance to win a share of a $1.25m (~ÂŁ952,375) prize pool.
The event marks a new chapter for the Major. For the first time, a best-of-five Grand Final will determine the winner.
