European esports organisation G2 Esports has announced a partnership with loyalty platform FanBase XBorg.

Through the collaboration, the esports team has launched its own fan app, G2 Army, creating a new gamified experience for its community. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed

According to Xborg, the FanBase-powered platform will allow users to earn rewards, complete quests and access exclusive content tailored to their interests. Additionally, FanBase has developed a utility layer for the G2 Samurai Army NFT collection, giving holders benefits based on holding size.

The fan app will also introduce the Copilot feature, which monitors G2’s entire ecosystem and automatically suggests or launches engagement campaigns, such as giveaways, polls, predictions, and gaming challenges. Users from the previous G2 app will be able to migrate their data and receive 1:1 credit distribution, guaranteeing that past engagement is recognised.

The G2 app will come with Free and Premium tiers, costing $4.99 (~£3.76) per month or $29.99 (~£22.58) with an annual subscription. Compared to the free version, the Premium tier will feature exclusive quests, extra battlepass rewards, special events, behind-the-scenes content and exclusive shop prizes.

XBorg is Growing its Footprint in Esports

Founded in 2022, XBorg has been growing consistently over the past year, having partnered with several global organisations, including the likes of Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, and JD Gaming.

By working with a community ownership model, developers are able to suggest features and build new applications on top of the protocol. Moreover, it provides the needed developer tools to let teams focus on creating unique experiences rather than building infrastructure from scratch. As a result, it should, in theory, create a public good for gaming that focuses on long-term value creation as opposed to short-term shareholder returns.

Last year, XBorg raised a total of $9m (~£6.7m) exclusively from individual investors, as opposed to other tech startups that rely on resources from venture capital funds.
