Manchester City Esports has announced that it is launching its first professional team for Rocket League.

It is the only current Premier League club to compete in the sport game, and will make its debut at the RLCS 2026 Kick-Off Weekend.

The Rocket League team will be made up of three players, including Aston ‘Accro‘ Smith, William ‘ejby‘ Lorentzen and Dane Christian ‘TempoH‘ Mortensen. The trio have played together in the past, representing Lyost Esports in the Coup De France Slash 2025 season, and competing in multiple Monthly Cash Cups this year.

The players will be coached by Noah ‘n0ah‘ Hinder, who has previous experience with teams such as Moist Esports and Lyost Esports. The 27-year-old is also a former pro player who represented a number of teams dating back to 2018.

Manchester City Esports will showcase its new roster at the RLCS 2026 Kick-Off Weekend, playing its first match against NOVO Esports. Running from December 5th to 7th, 2025, the Kick-Off will see the squad face some of the best teams in Europe and North America to earn a spot in the Boston Major.

Rocket League is an online multiplayer game borrowing the rules of traditional football, but substitutes players for racing cars. First released in 2015, the sports title has cultivated a dedicated player base, in addition to an annual esports circuit through the RLCS.

Manchester City Esports in 2025

Manchester City Esports continues to expand its presence in gaming, creating teams in EA FC 26, Fortnite, and bringing activations to Roblox.

In 2025 alone, the football club has seen several developments in esports. Manchester City Esports has arguably seen the most competitive success in EA FC 26 after winning the ePremier League 2025 Finals, securing £30,000 (~$38,750) in prize funds.

The organisation also continues to support the future of esports, launching an esports academy programme back in June. Students can earn a Level 2 certificate in Esports, and after two years of study can leave with a Level 3 Extended Diploma.
