Swedish esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) will open a standalone esports exhibition at Tekniska Museet for its 25th anniversary on December 6th.
According to a release, the team will showcase its esports journey through video installations, archival footage, storytelling panel and interviews.
Split into five key themes, the exhibition will go over the early days of the organisation, the dominance and setbacks of its first era, and the following evolution of the NIP brand as it became a global organisation with a presence across several competitive games.
Additionally, the exhibition will also feature a special panel talk with professional Street Fighter player Joel ‘Juicyjoe‘ Sundell and his father on how parents can support young players in their path to the esports scene.
Laura Rojas Uribe, Director of Innovation at NIP, commented on the exhibition: “Ninjas in Pyjamas has shaped esports culture for more than two decades, so this exhibition feels like a natural step.
“The idea first came to me in 2022, but celebrating our 25th anniversary makes it especially meaningful. It’s vital for us to share the story behind the team – the players, the moments, and the design language that made NIP what it is today.”
NIP Has Been Expanding Across Esports and Business
Throughout the past years, NIP has been progressively expanding across several game titles to further increase its global presence. Aside from key games such as Counter-Strike 2 and League of Legends, the team has also fielded rosters in Street Fighter 6, Rocket League, Fatal Fury, Teamfight Tactics, EA FC, PUBG, Call of Duty: Warzone, Honor of Kings, Rainbow Six Siege, and Crossfire.
On the business side, NIP has been expanding to include technology infrastructure projects, following a multi-year agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).
Earlier last month, the company announced an expansion of its Bitcoin (BTC) mining operations, after the initial acquisition in September, with more plans to utilise the expanded infrastructure for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence applications.
