Serbian esports organisation Aurora Gaming has announced its return to Apex Legends esports with the signing of the former NAVI roster.
The trio of Jose ‘Uxako‘ Llosa, Filipe ‘Hiarka‘ Morgado, and Anton ‘Slab‘ Eklundh will represent the organisation at the upcoming Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Championship.
Unveiled on December 15th, the signing of the roster brings Aurora Gaming’s six-month absence from the battle royale title to an end. In June, the organisation revealed plans to take a break from competitive Apex Legends after parting ways with its previous roster, which scored a 14th-place finish during the first EMEA split of the ALGS Pro League.
The new signings are no strangers to success in regional competitions. May saw the trio finish second in Split 1 of EMEA under the NAVI banner, before placing 11th in Split 2. Despite placing outside of the top ten, the team had already earned enough points to secure qualification for the season-ending championship.
In addition to strong regional performances, Uxako and Hiarka have reached the pinnacle of Apex Legends esports. In January, the duo won the ALGS 2024 Championship while representing GoNext Esports.
Aurora Gaming to Set Foot on the 2026 ALGS Championship Stage
After securing the 21st seed based on its championship points, Aurora Gaming’s return to Apex Legends esports will take place on the title’s biggest stage at the ALGS 2026 Championship. Taking place from January 15th to 18th, 40 of the world’s best teams will compete for a chance to become world champions.
Aurora Gaming begins its campaign in Group D alongside the likes of VK Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas, which ended the regular season with the fourth and fifth seeds, respectively.
The top 20 teams from the group advance to the winners’ bracket, while the bottom 20 earn a place in the losers’ bracket. Ten teams from the winners’ bracket secure qualification to the Finals, while the remaining teams battle it out in the losers’ bracket for a chance to compete for the title.
Having previously achieved success in the ALGS Pro League, Aurora Gaming will be aiming to achieve even stronger results with the signing of a roster capable of making an impact on the international stage.
