Breon Corcoran, a seasoned businessman and former CEO of Flutter Entertainment and Paddy Power Betfair, has joined Sportradar’s board of directors.
With effect from December 11th, the sports data and technology company announced that Corcoran was elected to the board, increasing the group’s leadership as it pursues its strategy of global expansion.
Since January 2024, Corcoran has been the CEO of IG Group, an online trading and investment company.
After serving in senior roles at Paddy Power for more than ten years, he was appointed CEO of Betfair in 2012 and then CEO of the combined Paddy Power Betfair, which later changed its name to Flutter Entertainment.
Corcoran’s Background and Sportradar’s Growth
Along with his background in gambling and gaming, Corcoran oversaw operations in several foreign markets as chairman of Auction Technology Group from 2022 to 2024 and as CEO of Zepz, a cross-border payments company, from 2018 to 2022.
He described Sportradar as having “an impressive business in sports technology” and said he looks forward to working with CEO Carsten Koerl, chairman Jeffery Yabuki, and the rest of the board to help drive long-term value for stakeholders.
Following his appointment, Sportradar’s board now consists of 10 members, including Koerl and Yabuki, alongside Deirdre Bigley, John Doran, George Fleet, Pascal Keutgens, William Kurtz, Rajani Ramanathan, and Marc Walder.
Yabuki highlighted Corcoran’s “wealth of leadership experience across multiple industries”, and his in-depth knowledge of sports data and technology.
With overall Q3 revenue increasing 14% year over year to €292m and profit reaching €22m (£19m), Sportradar’s most recent quarterly results demonstrated ongoing growth.
The company recently closed its acquisition of sports data and media company IMG Arena, which was first announced in March, and increased its 2025 full-year revenue outlook to at least €1.29b (£1.13b), representing about 17% growth.
