What are wagering requirements?
A wagering requirement (also called a “playthrough” or “rollover”) is the number of times you must bet the value of a bonus before you can withdraw any winnings from it. If you claim a £50 bonus with 10x wagering, you must place £500 in bets before the bonus money — and anything you win with it — becomes real, cashable money.
How to use the calculator
- Deposit amount – how much you plan to pay in.
- Bonus match – the percentage the casino adds (a 100% match doubles your deposit).
- Wagering multiplier – the “x” figure from the bonus terms.
- Game contribution – slots usually count 100%, but table games often contribute 10% or less, which dramatically increases the real turnover needed.
- Applies to – whether wagering is calculated on the bonus only, or on your deposit + bonus combined (the latter is far tougher).
The 2026 UK rule that changed everything
Since 19 January 2026, the UK Gambling Commission caps casino bonus wagering at a maximum of 10x the bonus. Before this, 35x–50x was common. A £50 bonus that once needed £2,000 of turnover at 40x now needs just £500 at 10x — making bonuses dramatically easier to clear at UK-licensed casinos.
What makes a “good” wagering requirement?
- 10x or lower – excellent, and now the UK legal ceiling.
- 100% slots contribution – your bets count in full.
- Wagering on bonus only – not deposit + bonus.
- A realistic time limit – ideally 7 days or more.
